In 2017, His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Member of the Ruling Family, was appointed as the first Chairman of ‘The Arab Investment and Development Authority’ by the Higher Council For Development.

Anwar Hussein:

Mr. Anwar Hussein is currently the Group CEO of HBK Department of Projects and CEO of AIDA.

As an entrepreneur with more than 28 years of financial market experience with Hons in Bachelor of Economics and Finance, he has built a career within the telecommunications and the renewable energy industry in the MENA, rest of Africa, the sub continent and central Asia through investments not only to the economic growth but a lasting positive social and environmental benefit and impact driven by:-

  • Investment into the domestic productive capacity
  • Support of the entrepreneurs in business
  • Fostering financial inclusion
  • Improving access to cleaner energy and innovative technology
  • Fostering sustainable communities and cities

Mr. Anwar Hussein has been leading investments for renewable energy projects, structured financial investment transactions and technology development over the past 10 years across several countries based on innovation and policy commitments for projects that are in various stages of ongoing developments through fund development partners across Asia, Europe and the US.

As an executive he is also engaged in leading and growing the current operations along with the technical development, project management and fund investments within the water, oil & gas, infrastructure, telecom, fintech, health, hospitality and real estate, agriculture and mining sectors by forging several joint venture strategic partnerships with key industry players with the aim of contributing towards regional development that is innovative, eco friendly and sustainable.

Rahmiullah Zakir:

Director – Investment

He is an adaptable and visionary financial services executive with extensive hands-on experience in risk management, control, governance, program/project management, regulatory and support functions across the transaction cycle over the last 9 years.

He is able to offer detailed strategic and operationally sound solutions and specializes in ‘Start-up’, ‘Turnaround’, Strategic Rebuild and Process Re-Engineering Scenarios.

He also has a deep knowledge of market and credit risk and in regulatory compliance, capital markets, investment & commercial banking and Sovereign Wealth Funds. He has detailed knowledge of both the finance and business methodology that drives profit and efficiency across a number of businesses including, investment banking, asset management, brokerage, infrastructure finance, public sector investment, trade finance, treasury and liquidity management.

Wealth management & advisory experience with family offices, structured commodity finance securing against forward sale contracts of crude oil and UHNWI, coupled with 5 years of Central Bank & Reserve Advisory Management experience access to investment capital in both Equity & Debt form from client group and strong network of Tier 1 banks Infra-Structure & Project Finance having Program Management Solution based approach to Risk Management, trading and structuring across asset classes.

Nicholas Kairis:

Director – Legal

Nicholas has been active as a business and legal counsel to enterprises for almost twenty-two years, in Greece, Germany, Cyprus, the U.A.E. and the U.S.

Member of the Athens Bar Association since 1998 and having established his own law firm in 2004 his fields of activity have been banking, financial and international trade law and respective transactions and derivatives, both OTC and within commodities’ exchanges, with a special focus in regard to compliance and regulatory for various financing structures, collateralization of commodities, corporate bonds and IPOs in various jurisdictions.

He had many years of collaboration with an international Law Firm, which was functioning as outsourced legal counsel to both Citibank N.Y. in Athens/ Greece as well as Laiki Bank in Athens.

He was also able to assist operations in the U.S. regarding issuance, underwriting and legal opinions on securities.

Holds an LL.M. post graduate studies diploma from the Law Faculty of the University of Heidelberg in the fields of international arbitration and participated to seminars at the University of Strasbourg in the fields of corporate law. Has taught specific legal contractual forms and maritime financing at the Hellenic Shipbrokers’ Association’s seminars. Speaks Greek, English, German and French.

Yoro Mohamed Diallo

Advisory Board Member

Yoro M. Diallo is a prominent banker, a financial strategist, a promoter of worldwide trade, a development finance and an investment advisor to African governments, international financial institutions, and multi-billion dollar corporations. His expertise on mergers & acquisitions are frequently sought by large public and private sector companies operating in the Financial, Agriculture, Power, Mining, Telecommunications, and Infrastructure Development sectors around Africa.

Yoro’s expert advice has allowed governments and private-sector financial institutions to effectively and efficiently undertake debt reduction and/or restructuring and privatisation of public and parapublic companies.
Mister Diallo also assists African governments to develop viable public-private partnerships in infrastructure development and restructuring partnership codes in oil and gas, solid mineral mining, agriculture and education.

Mister Diallo served as the official financial advisor to the Mali government.
As a trade finance specialist he frequently provides advisory services on cross-border trade flows to businessmen and investors active in the African marketplace.

Mr. Diallo’s banking service models have been implemented in Citibank one of the world’s largest financial institution where he worked for over 16 years and contributed in in establishing Citibank as one of the leading clearing banks to African corporate and financial institutions in Senegal, Republic of Guinea, Ivory Coast, Togo, Nigeria, Ghana, and other markets around the African continent.

As a disbursement and cash collateral management specialist, Yoro structured management processes of collateralised funds from multilaterally financed projects by the World Bank, the African Development Bank, the West African Development Bank and the Islamic Development Bank thereby allowing Citibank to control over US$600 million of donor flows.

Yoro concurrently serves as the Managing Director of Sahara Financial Management Services – a financial and investment advisory service firm, Chief Financial Officer of Tanexco – a Washington D. C. based professional services and global firm focusing on managing African resources , Yoro is also member of the board of Global Finance and Capital Ltd. – a London-based investment bank which, in 2014, raised US$19.6 billion to finance infrastructure projects across eight countries in West Africa. Presently, Yoro also serves as Board Member of United Capital Infrastructure Fund, a Nigerian based Pan African financial and investment services group, providing strategic investment services to government and private-sector clients. He is also board member of Vista Bank Group a West African Commercial Bank operating in 03 countries.
Diallo has also been recently asked to Join the board of Abu Dhabi Invesstment Group

Diallo has also served as Regional Director of Ecobank’s MENA & India operations and was mandated to promote a Pan African Islamic Bank, leveraging the Ecobank network.

With a career in international finance spanning over 40 years, Yoro’s close association with prominent political and business figures from Africa, and beyond, as well as his business associations with leading global financial institutions serve as his core strengths for his international clientel and business partners, allowing him to be positioned among Africa’s top financial experts and advisors, capable of influencing, guiding, and executing multi-billion dollar investment and infrastructure projects.

Dr Hamadoun Touré:

Advisory Board Member

Dr Hamadoun Touré is currently the Founding Chairman and CEO of SpicaCom (July 2019), a company based in Mali to build and operate Data Centers across the African Continent. Previously Dr Hamadoun Touré was the Founding Executive Director of SMART Africa Alliance from October 2015 to February 2019 in Kigali, Rwanda. In this position Dr Touré successfully promoted the concept of the African Single Digital Market and the Infrastructure development (Data Centers, fiber Networks, Cellular and Mobile Networks Terminal equipment manufacturing), Content Development as well as Applications and Services specially made by Africans for Africa.

As Chairman of SpicaCom he is mobilizing the resources as Investment Fund for Data Centers and also encouraging Start-ups across the continent.

Dr. Touré was Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the specialized agency of the United Nations dedicated to information and communication technologies from 2007 to 2014.

During his tenure in the ITU he founded the “Global Cyber Security Agenda” (GCA) and the Child-On-line Protection (COP) initiative. He is also the Founder of the “UN Broadband Commission” and the Global Symposium of Regulators (GSR). He chaired the UN ICT Network for the Chief Executive Board (CEB) gathering all the UN heads of Agencies.

He has previously served in several positions in ICO Global Communications (London, UK) and INTELSAT (Washington DC, USA). He started his professional career in his native Mali where he was the Technical Manager of the International Satellite Earth Station.

Dr. Touré holds a master’s degree in Engineering from the Technical University of St Petersburg, Russia and a PhD in Electronics Engineering from the University of Informatics and Electronics of Moscow, Russia.


Dr. Hamadoun Touré is currently Member of Presidential Advisory Boards for the Presidents of Rwanda, Benin and Chad. He previously served in the Advisory Council of Prime Minister Abdallah of Malaysia.

He currently serves as Board Member of several Tech-Companies.

Dr Touré is Member of the World Federation of Scientists (WFS) where he is chairman of the Permanent Monitoring Panel on Cybersecurity.

He is a Foreign Member of the Swedish Royal Academy of Science (IVA).

Russell Duke:

Advisory Board Member

Russell Duke is a global financial executive bringing two decades of international finance, leadership, and economic policy expertise. Russell currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer, a member of the company’s management and investment committee at National Standard, and founder and voice of the Duke Global Initiative, a 21st century Marshall Plan Infrastructure Policy initiative for infrastructure mobilization to address the global infrastructure capital deficit faced around the globe. He also serves as Secretary-General of Economic Council of Nations.

As CEO of National Standard, Russell has been providing transformative structured debt, liquidity, and policy engineered advisory solutions to governments, financial institutions, corporations, and the infrastructure industry globally. He routinely advises Heads of State, Central Banks, Finance Ministers, and global financial institutions on monetary and economic issues as well as related geopolitical policy. Mr. Duke has also participated in numerous G2G negotiations, trade delegations, foreign direct Investment matters, and economic policy matters. During this time Mr. Duke has worked in more than 70 countries worldwide across all continents over the past two decades of his career. Russell also created and implemented a proprietary governmental and infrastructure liquidity structured product into the financial market.

Most recently in 2020 during a time of unprecedented economic and geopolitical uncertainty, Mr. Duke has been engaged by an array of governments to advise on the development and implementation of economic recovery, liquidity stabilization matters and post COVID-19 infrastructure policy and financing as a means of job creation and economic stimulus due to the monetary impact of the COVID-19 global health pandemic.

Prior to joining National Standard, Mr. Duke was a Director and shareholder of a prominent European investment bank and asset management firm that also served as the family office of one of Europe’s most historically storied and wealthy families. Additionally, Russell served as a Senior Director and Board Member at a financial institution with primary operations in the United States and Asia with a primary focus on commercial real estate, corporate finance, and infrastructure asset classes.

Mr. Duke has authored dozens of published articles on infrastructure, monetary and geopolitical subjects in major media outlets. Mr. Duke has also been the subject of numerous interviews on economic, banking and geopolitical matters and is a regular speaker at public and private sector conferences and events globally.
